PAT RYAN
FOR COUNTY SUPERVISOR

John Beard
Pat is a capable, generous, thoughtful man and, most importantly for a public servant, he is a careful listener.
Mark Webber
Pat Ryan has a long family history and deep roots in Winneshiek County. He will consider issues carefully and weigh input from county residents to serve us all.
Alan Ellickson
I support Pat Ryan for District 1 Supervisor! His common sense, attention to detail, organizational skills and even tempered judgement make him the best choice for the future of the citizens of Winneshiek County.

About Pat Ryan
Pat Ryan is a friendly neighbor, a carpenter, outdoorsman, and a 6th generation Winneshiek County resident.
Pat is running for county supervisor because he believes we can better steward of our natural resources, more thoughtfully manage our budget while still supporting essential services like public health, and that rural residents deserve a representative who is approachable, curious, and kind.
Pat is a tradesman, working to restore historic buildings as a carpenter and mason. He will approach the work of county supervisor with a problem-solving mindset and a willingness to listen and learn.
Pat lives on Middle Sattre road where you'll often see him gardening or tuning up his bike. He has ridden RAGBRAI more than 20 times and once lived in the Czech Republic, working as an English teacher.

Pat's Priorities
MAINTAIN RURAL ROADS AND BRIDGES
PROTECT PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES
DEFEND OUR NATURAL RESOURCES
CONFRONT THREATS FROM DATA CENTERS
ENSURE FAIR ACCESS TO TRASH DISPOSAL
Pat will work to adopt best practices from other counties for maintaining and improving roads. He will also work to revive the roadside vegetation program, which other counties have proven to be cheaper and better for the roads and environment.
Valued county health services have been targeted for damaging budget cuts, threatening the care that many rely on. Pat will replace Mark Vick’s antagonism toward County Public Health with a constructive, caring approach.
Pat would seek to ensure funding for local water testing to guide health and water-management decisions. Protecting private wells, public drinking water, and public waterways must be a priority, especially in light of high local cancer rates.
Too many localities have been ambushed by data centers, negatively impacting energy, water resources and the quality of life. Pat supports a moratorium of at least two years, to permit us to evaluate the longer-term effects of data centers elsewhere.
Residents of our Supervisor district have seen efforts to undermine the trash disposal arrangements we depend on. As a long-time resident of Pleasant Township, Pat knows how important fair access is throughout our district, and will protect it.
Pat's Values

1
Friendliness
Our supervisors make decisions every week that impact our families. As the 6th generation of Norwegian and Irish immigrants who settled in Winneshiek County, I am proud to call this place home. I care for my neighbors, even those I haven't met yet. I would be glad to talk with you and I hope that I can earn your vote.
2
Curiosity
Over the last decade, I've made a career out of carpentry, masonry, and historic building restoration. I like working in a team, and I know when to ask questions to accomplish a common goal. I am genuinely interested in making our home the best place to live in Iowa, and I will ask questions and be open to conversations so we can keep improving our home.
3
Stewardship
I grew up up walking through the forests and fields of our county right here in Sattre. It is important that we be good stewards of our county budget, good stewards of our invaluable natural resources, and good stewards of our relationships with each other. We live in a special place. Let's work together in District 1 to keep our county thriving.
